Aeolosomas' Journey
In this set of site-specific generative animations, a swarm of digital Aeolosoma worms is released into a pool of black and white abstractions. This form of life that lies in the microcosm of video-feedback, unveils the true organic nature of digital. And when superimposed by primitive geometric shapes, creates a variety of gnarly structural visual rhythms across the 9 screens of the Snodgrass Gallery.
KEVIN KRIPPER
The challenges of working with a legacy of bug-filled technology has been my main obsession. Using self-developed tools, found footage from art history, and technological uchronias, my work engages with topics that explore notions of appropriation, authorship, techno-phobias, digital/organic nature, new media art conservation, and media archeology.
